Canada Day weekend was excellent. We went to Granville Island for the buskers and the parade; it was as packed as could be expected, but tonnes of fun.

We've started harvesting bits and pieces from our garden. Our green onions and lettuce are coming home, and in the next week or so we'll harvest all of our carrots. Our winter veggies are being seeded as soon as we have room. The only trouble veggies we've had are the beans, beets and cukes in the back of the bed. We've decided it's the wet soil, so we've been using vermiculite and perlite to lighten it up. I guess it won't change much till next year, but the lack of rain during the summer is at least helping the plants grow at the present.
