It almost seemed that summer came early in Vancouver, but thankfully, we've had a bit of rain fall in the past few days. And yes, thankfully, because I'm a firm believer in a rain forest being chock full of ... rain.
I recently discovered that SFU is host to a Gardening Club! Not much talk about it on the web, but it exists. For $20, you get a plot of land for a year. 2.5m X 10m is enough for a few rows of salad crop, and a nice break from the computer. We've started planting, and now the only thing is to sit and wait... the plot we are alotted is on the edge of the forest, and is therefore quite severely shaded. So, we're waiting to see exactly what grows and what doesn't.
